Fun for the whole family!

Our mission at Northbridge Sailing Club (NSC) is to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment where individuals and families can learn, practice and enjoy sailing.

Right now, we're welcoming families wishing to have fun together learning to sail. Our popular Family Learn to Sail (FLTS) course is designed for parents/guardians and kids aged 7+ wanting to jump into a boat together to learn the ropes on beautiful Middle Harbour.

Under the close guidance of our experienced instructors who are passionate about sailing and dedicated to helping you improve your skills, the FLTS course prepares kids for integration into our ongoing Junior Learn to Sail program every Sunday. It's also a fantastic stepping stone for parents/guardians keen to get on the water with their kids to explore the joys of sailing.

At the conclusion of the FLTS course, all participants will have the opportunity to integrate further into our friendly sailing community at NSC. During the sailing season, kids are encouraged to follow a pathway into our Green Fleet sailing an Optimist Dinghy, while parents can build experience with coaching and progress to fun races in a Pacer. In addition, th whole family can combine sailing skills and venture out onto the bay for weekly leisure sails. Whatever pathway you choose, you'll have boats available for your use once you complete the course.

Our next FLTS course runs every Sunday in March 2025 from 9am-12:30pm starting Sunday 2 March and concluding Sunday 30 March. Participants need to come equipped with their own life jackets (minimum Level 50) and suitable water wear including a secure hat and long-sleeve rash vest for sun protection, a wetsuit if it's cold (boardshorts or swimming leggings are fine otherwise) and water shoes.

Cost:

  • $700 for the first 2 family members
  • Plus $100 for each additional immediate family member (siblings + parents/guardians)

In addition there is a mandatory discounted family membership fee of $100 which includes Australian Sailing registration and contributes to fixed costs.  Examples of total cost for the 5 training sessions and membership:

  • Family of two $800
  • Family of three: $900
  • Family of four: $1000
